Found this on Fox news . . . A Dublin hospital apologized Thursday for telling a family their relative was dead, only to discover he was still alive when the morticians arrived.

Evel Knievel Takes a Leap of Faith

Last night, while visiting at my parents, my mother excitedly told me about watching the "Hour of Power" on TV a few weeks ago. On the particular morning she watched, Robert "Evel" Knievel gave his testimony. I know a lot of you don't even know who "Evel" Knievel is. I remember coming in early to watch him on TV jump this or that on his motorcycle. I remember people talking about how he had broken every bone in his body at one time or another (that may be a slight exaggeration). He was the dare devil everyone wanted to watch.

Well, my mother was so moved about this testimony. You could see it in her expressions as she told how he had come to know Christ personally and wanted everyone to know Him as well. As she talked, I knew I had to look this up for myself. Even though I believed her, I needed to read more about it. Now I admit that up until about a year ago, I would not have thought of the "Hour of Power" as being very evangelistic. However, I am glad kept my opinion to myself. About a year ago I was able to visit the Crystal Cathedral and hear Robert Shuler. He spoke to a group from the Beeson Institute which I was attending. From the things he talked about there, the website, and this conversation with my mother, I believe my assumptions were wrong. This just goes to prove that you have to look at the inside of things before you really know all about them.

Welcome to the Family, Isaac!

I would like to introduce to you my newest nephew, Isaac Ronald Ebright. My sister, Michele, and her husband Dave have adopted this little guy and are excited to be Issac's parents. Even though Isaac has been living in Michele and Dave's home since the middle of March, this morning at 12:00 AM Issac will forevermore be their son. Because of the the laws, etc. concerning adoption, up until four months after Issac was born the birth mother could have still taken responsibility and kept him for her own. Since that didn't happen, Isaac will ALWAYS stay with his new parents.

I think this has been the coolest thing. It is just like God adopting us as his own. Just like Issac is loved by his parents, I am loved as God's child. Also, like Issac, God will never give me up. What a great example this is for us.

Isaac . . . welcome into this family. I will be praying for you that you will also come to know Christ personally and in turn know what it is like to have God be your heavenly father.

Over Half of the States Are In!

This has been a great week, I think, for getting visitors to the blog! Last Friday we had 11 states This week we added another 15 states, plus the District of Columbia, on our trek for at least one visitor from every state. The new states are Iowa, Oregon, Indiana, Minnesota, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Louisiana, Nebraska, Michigan, Oklahoma, Colorado, Georgia, New Jersey, South Carolina, and New York. That makes the total 26 states and Washington, D.C. If you aren't good in math, there are 24 states to go. If you know anyone across the country, please send them a link to the blog.

Also this week, there were visitors from the following countries: Senegal, Switzerland, South Africa, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Italy and Portugal.

Come back next Friday to see how close we are to all 50 states.

Stevy Z. Hits for the Cycle

Today I get to brag on my nephew. Stephen was playing his "A" team baseball game last night and batted 5 times. He hit safely at every at bat. In fact, he hit for the cycle. He had two singles, a double, triple and a Home Run - over the fence! I know his mother was proud and, even though I wasn't able to see it, his uncle was pleased to hear it as well.

DUH!!!

According to FoxNews.com, religion is good for kids. Here's a taste.

The kids whose parents regularly attended religious services — especially when both parents did so frequently — and talked with their kids about religion were rated by both parents and teachers as having better self-control, social skills and approaches to learning than kids with non-religious parents.

Crash on the Asphalt

A friend of mine from church, Bob White, races "Midgets" on the asphalt (opposed to the dirt tracks around Central PA) and was racing in North Carolina over the weekend. I got a phone call at about 11:45 PM on Saturday night that he was in a bad wreck and taken to the hospital. Here's the Newspaper report.

The Ford Focus Midgets had an evening that could best be summed up as interesting, to say the least. The 35 lap race was marred by a horrific wreck that saw the 7 of Bob White catch another driver�s tire, shoot up the fence and roll four times along the retaining fence before bounding down the turn three embankment and coming to a stop against the infield wall. Remarkably, White was alright after being checked out at a local hospital.

I talked with him in person yesterday and today. Thank God that he was alright. He looked fine, but said he was pretty sore.

Bank Robber's Picture

A bank employee snapped this photograph of the man who robbed the Richfield Branch of the Juniata Valley Bank Monday morning at about 9 a.m. The man is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, is between 25-30 years old, has a medium build and brown hair. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the police.
