Soccer Camp Closing

Pastor Paul shares to the "multitudes" at the last night of Soccer Camp. It is bitter sweet for me as it is his last official day today. It has been an exciting time with Paul as the pastor at RMC. God speed to Paul and his family as they begin a new ministry.

The week has been great and productive. There has been great ministry all week.

Today's BIG News!

To all my Youth Ministry friends: Today’s BIG News!

Thanks Stephanie for putting today (and every day) into perspective! GREAT Post!

For all you who aren't in the Youth Ministry culture, Doug Fields, a Youth Ministry "icon" has decided to move on from "Simply Youth Ministry", the company he created (and later sold to Group) to go to a "rival" youth ministry company, Youth Specialties. It has the Youth Ministry world in a tizzy today.

Joel & Jana's Baby Registry

I am really excited for September 12 to get here.  That is Jana's due date.  Today she is 26 weeks along!  It is exciting and a little scary at the same time.  We have been working on the Nursery and planning for our new arrival.  This weekend we bought her "coming home" clothes.  You can see more about that at Jana's blog - Ms Baby & Me.  I really didn't know there was soooo much to think about and so much to buy!  Thankfully, some people have asked about our baby registry.  Now, while I am a little embarrassed about posting this, I also understand that it is nice for those who can now know what we need or would like.  So . . . for those of you who want to know, I have listed where we are registered.

Alabaster Coffee Roasting & Tea Company

Karl brewing some coffee
Jana and I are "Vacationing" in the "resort" town of Williamsport for a few days. Jana, on her blog, has called it a "babymoon" (I will let you read for yourself).  We have actually had a very nice and relaxed two days so far.  One of the things we wanted to do while in Billtown was catch up with a few friends who make their home here.  Yesterday we lunched with the Sweeting's and today we walked down Pine Street to see Karl at Alabaster Coffee Roasting and Tea Company.  Karl buys the green coffee bean, roasts it (to perfection) and brews it by pouring the hot water by hand over the freshly ground coffee.  It is a unique but excellent way of preparing coffee.  They have all kinds of coffee, (most of which I have no idea about) tea, pastries and free internet.  Since I am not a coffee fan at all, Karl made me a vanilla Latte.  I have to admit, the longer I sipped, the more I enjoyed the beverage!  I would definitely have another, if I lived in town.

I also really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor at Alabaster.  I am a fan of the old brick wall and their 64 square foot concrete bar.  Again, if I were a local, I would be there a great deal.  We had a nice visit and learned a bunch and are looking forward to a return to the City of Millionaires and Alabaster.
