A Week At Camp Via My Phone

I took all my pics I took at camp with my phone and made them into an Animoto video. It was really easy and took about 20 minutes! Enjoy!

Day Three Video from Camp

Here is the video we showed at camp on Thursday morning. Unfortunately, we had to change the music to the "Limbo" because of copyright laws. So the music you are hearing is not what the kids heard.

Mid Day Report

So, we are mid-way through the second day of camp! So far, so good. It rained a bit again this morning but the afternoon was nice. The counselors are doing a good job keeping track of and spending time with the campers. It has been great working with them. We have a video that is being uploaded to Vimeo" as I type. I will get it on here as soon as it is ready and I have time. In the mean time, here a just a couple more pictures from "Hat" day Tuesday.

Swimming, Snacks and Singing

Here are a few more pictures from camp.  Below we have kids waiting for "Cool Pops" while taking a break from swimming at the late.

Then, last night it rained so, campfire had to be held inside.  In the following picture we see Jana, Ashley and Seth leading the campers in some singing!

A Few Pics from Camp

?As you can see from these first two pics, today is yellow/sunglasses day at camp.  On the top photo, the campers are lined up for breakfast.  Below we are in the gym eating.

The following pic is from the "Morning Workout".  These three "volunteers" are trying to peel a banana with their feet.  It isn't an easy task, but it was funny to watch.

Finally, being sunglasses day, Brian shows off his bandana and sunglasses.

More later!

Sunday Night - In the Books

Sunday night is completed and I am getting ready for staff meeting at Camp. Last night was a good night - at least I think, I haven't heard how devos and lights out went from the counselors. We are using Answers In Genesis material and talking about "Decoding the Mystery of Life". The kids were introduced to the Theme last night and Pastor Paul reinforsed the theme at camp fire time. I will be posting pictures and videos soon. Check back often to keep up with the "goings on" at camp!

Face Painting at Dutch Days

Pastor Paul paints a face at the free Face Painting stand at Dutch Days. Nice crowd tonight.

Food At Dutch Days

Last night while I was walking around at Dutch Days, someone suggested I write about all the different food available during the week. He wanted me to tell the best places to eat, etc. Well, the only problem with this is that I don't like most seafood. So I didn't think it was fair to those since I don't eat them.

Here is what I do know. Justin LOVES the fish sandwiches that the Richfield Boy Scouts sell. Last night two different people suggested that I eat a cheese steak sub, but I didn't and don't know who sells them. I have seen a bunch of people just eating fruit cups? For me, the old regulars are some of my favorite. I always make sure I get at least one hamburger, hot dog, ice cream (from the Freeburg Boy Scouts), funnel cake and I like to drink an orange aid (is that how you spell it?), from the big truck. The lemonade uses fresh squeezed lemons and is a favorite of many people. The Pizza buggy always has a line and so does the French Fry stand!

Each evening there is a special "meal" prepared. Check the web page for more information. There are many more good options, but unfortunately, I won't remember them all. I am hoping some people will comment and let me know what they enjoy.

Tonight is the Apple Pie Baking Contest, so I hope to partake in a good Apple Pie.

By the way, I am told that there are NO calories in any of the food on the Dutch Days grounds. I don't know how they do it, but I am told it is true!

Jana is Interviewed by WBRE

Got to spend the day with my wife at Group Workcamps in Carbondale,
PA. Today she gave an interview to WBRE-TV. Other crews and
newspaper reporters are expected later. She is perfect for this job.
