My Interview at the OCC Press Event

Hopefully, this will be the last time I post about "Me" and my interview. And for those of you who thought the last video was of me . . . hehehehehehe. Anyway, here, finally, is my interview from the OCC Press Event. As usual, I stutter around quite a bit at the end, but that's nothing new. This was a priveledge for me to be able to promote our kids and my church and to Glorify Christ. It is nice to say that I met Franklin Graham, but I met just as many great people who are allowing God to use them. And, at the same time, I minister with a great bunch of people who are using their time, talents, experiences and gifts to change the lives of kids in my area as well. They might not be as well known, but they are just as valuable. It was an honor to be asked and I was glad I was able to help.

Another ??? Article

I know it seems a bit self promoting, but people really have asked about all of this, so I am going post about it.

You can click here to read an article about the press conference. It's on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association web site.

Kathy Schriefer OCC Interview

I have uploaded this video of Kathy Schriefer of Erie, PA being interviewed by Joey Turner, the "Follow the Box" guy. She has collected an "uber" amount of OCC shoe boxes over the last several years. She was interviewed just before me. Watch and listen!

OCC Press Conference

A lot of people have asked about my time at the Operation Christmas Child "press conference" last Thursday. So, I thought I would post a few pictures. First one is of Franklin Graham, me and Jana. We didn't get a chance to chat but Mr. Graham was gracious enough to stop what he was doing and get our picture taken together. Actually, I feel kind of bad for him as he was mobbed by hundreds of supporters and later by the media. The next picture is of a long time OCC friend, Mary Damron, better known to us as "Momma Gump" - as she was labled by Mr. Graham the first time he met her. In his book, Living Beyond the Limits, Franklin wrote an entire chapter about Mary. She was at the Processing Center with us the first year or so that we voluteered, and many since.

Lastly, Jana took a picture of me standing and sharing during the press conference. We also got a video which I will try to post a little later.
In all, we had a great time and met a lot of great people, who were able to chat with. I learned a lot about the project that, even after 14 years of volunteering, I hadn't heard/known before.

Backstage With Franklin Graham

I had the opportunity to meet a man who is allowing God to use him to
do some great things. His name is Franklin Graham, but it could be you.

Would You Pray?

If you read this before 10:30 AM this morning, would you say a prayer for me. This morning I will be part of a press conference at the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center. Not that it matters, but I will use the same microphone as Franklin Graham will use this morning. They have asked that I share a little about the groups we bring each year and why it is important to us that we volunteer at the Processing Center. I think it is an honor and privilege to be able to share for two minutes about why we come and I am thankful for the opportunity. I am, however, a bit nervous. So please, if and when you think of me, would you please pray. And while you are praying, could you pray for our (my and Jana's) flights home. Jana actually leaves before me but I get to Harrisburg about 3 hours before she does. We had to take different flights. So we appreciate your prayers.
