I was messing around with this "Talking Tom" app and found out I could make a short video with him.  This isn't my best work ever, but I thought it was fun.  For those of you who are not from the Richield area, we are having a comedy night at our church this Sunday night, January 6 with Ryan & Friends and I am trying to drum up some more publicity.  Event starts at 6:30 PM at RMC.

Ella Meets Santa

Ella had just got up from a nap about 30 minutes before this and she still seemed about drowsy.  However, it was fun to watch her meet Santa for the first time at Christmas in the Park in Richfield, PA.

"First Sunday Event Series" at RMC

The evening service of the first Sunday of the Month at RMC has been designated as "First Sunday Event Series".  Each first Sunday night, RMC will be bringing in outside groups to encourage everyone with their talents and God given gifts.  The first of this new series will be Kristina Cornell on Sunday, December 3.  The evenings begin at 6:30 PM and will be in the church auditorium (unless otherwise noted).  In the next few days, weeks and months we will be announcing here who else will be in concert at RMC.  We are hoping everyone will be be blessed by this regular monthly series.

I admit it.  I had never heard this Country Top 40 hit song before.  Today was the first time I listened to the entire song.  What a sweet song about a little girl and her love for her daddy.  Little Red Balloon was nominated as one of the top videos of the year by GAC (Great American Country channel).  I am posting this to let you know that the singer of this song, Kristina Cornell, will be at RMC on Sunday night, December 2 at 6:30 PM and I would like to invite you to come.  The concert is FREE!  There will be an opportunity to give, if you want, to help cover the costs, but there is no obligation at all.  Please consider attending to listen to Kristina sing and hearing about her faith journey.

Ella goes out in style on our last day on the beach at Bethany Beach.  We have had a great week.  I would come to this place again.  Clean and quiet beach with some really good places to eat.  And, it is close enough to many attractions to keep you as busy as you want to be.  Enjoy the video.

Full beach day #2!  Daddy enjoyed (?) filling up the big red thing? with water from the ocean.  He had to use a small PINK bucket . . . that's what daddy's do.  It was a nice day

Ella loved the sand and the ocean. She also wanted to catch the seagulls. She found out that sand doesn't taste good. It was a fun afternoon. In this video you can also hear daddy "grunt" when he was surprised at the the wave of COLD water that came in a bit to high.

Pass It On

In the Quiet Time Diary, they have begun reading the book of Joel. I was obviously looking forward to reading this book. In Chapter one, beginning in verse two it reads:

Hear this, you elders; give ear, all inhabitants of the land! Has such a thing happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers? Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children to another generation.

I pray that I will make sure that I "tell my children" of the one who is our creator and savior!  Will you?

Missionary From Romania via Skype

Today, and hopefully other days this week, we were blessed to be taught and encouraged during the missionary time by a real live missionary via the Internet. We think this is a first for our camp. It was great knowing that we were hearing from someone who was talking from Romania.

We have had a great start to the week.  So far Justin "lost" his teddy bear and has charged the kids with helping him find it.  We talked about Zacchaeus and have participated in making a craft.  Right now everyone is in their quiz teams preparing for quizzing which is later tonight.  I will do my best to post as many pictures and videos as I can this week.  Check back often.

We, the "set up team", have arrived at camp and are getting settled in.  We are looking forward to a great week of camp.  The theme this week is "Lost but Found".  We have over 60 kids who will be joining us soon to begin the week.  IF you would like to send a camper or staff member an email, please click here.

Creation Museum

We stopped at the Creation Museum on our way home from our Workcamp. I personally enjoyed the planetarium program a lot. To think that we are such a small speck in the universe is mind boggling to me. Then, to think about how big the God who created it has to be is unfathomable! I just hope our kids were encouraged and strengthened in their faith.

Lydia Strawser Tuesday Workcamp

I hope you can hear Lydia. We recorded this right before the evening session. Thanks for your prayers. We continue to work hard, but today is a half day. We are going to a concert provided by the sponsors here at the camp and then to a "Hog Roast" for supper this evening.

Tonight after devotions we decided to go to "Staggs Dairy Treats" for some ice cream. We had heard good things about Staggs and we weren't disappointed! We had great service and good ice cream.

We got to the school and got settled in. At the evening program we met our other crew members and found out what we will doing. After a good nights sleep and a morning program, we headed out to meet our residents and began our work.

"I've never . . . "

I love taking kids on trips for a lot of reasons. One of those reasons happened twice already on our trip. The "I've never . . . " statements are fun to hear. Yesterday one of the kids said they had never been to Ohio. That isn't suprising, but it is fun to experience it with them. Then, this morning we were ordering breakfast at McDonld's and someone said, "I have never ordered off the breakfast menu here." Well, I just thought it was interesting. Hopefully, you will too. We re only about an hour from Rushville and are hoping to find the school and then eat lunch before checking in. I will try to post a few pics later today.

Saturday Night Devotions

We made it to our motel, a Motel 6 in Dayton Ohio, by 9:10 PM. After checking in and getting to our rooms, we spent some time studying together. I snapped a picture as we began our prayer time.

It Begins!

We, CRUX Student Ministries, began our journey to Rushville, IN to participate in the Group Workcamp there. There will be 17 people participating from our group. I will be blogging about our trip so come back often to follow us along the way.
