A Short "Goals" Evaluation

I just looked at my last post. As far as meeting the goals for each day. . . I have met some, some others aren't pertinent now, and I haven't met others. It has gone better, though. I am going into the office today, on a Thursday, because some things didn't get done on Monday. I don't know how everyone else is, but, I find keeping a schedule while working with people isn't always as easy as it sounds. There are a lot of distractions that come up during the day that I can't control and things take longer than expected.

Here are two examples:

Monday. Something I HAD to do but it wasn't on my list for the day was to call for reservations for Operation Christmas Child. I couldn't call before 8 AM, but I knew that last year, one day late meant almost not getting spots. What I thought would take 10 minutes of my time took almost an hour.

Wednesday. Diane has mentioned last week that the churches phone bill was excessively high this month. So, I thought Wednesday would be a good time to take 10 minutes and call the phone company, since we weren't having youth group that night. Unfortunately, that 10 minutes lasted well over an hour.

Now you say, that's just two hours of your week. Yes, but neither were part of the "schedule" for the week and these types of things happen all the time. Which is partly why I am going to the office today. And, those are just two examples of things that mess up the schedule. There are also visits from people who want/need to talk, phone calls, machine break downs that need attention, and the list goes on.

I want to you to know that this is not a complaint session. I want it to be more of an evaluation of how I am doing with my goals. In the long run, I think things are much better and I want to try to get better at keeping a schedule. Some of the goals are set during the school year and therefore my time is a bit messed up. So this will be an ongoing process.
