My Quiznos Experience

On my way home from Kansas City, I stopped at a Quiznos Subs during my layover in Charlotte. There is a new Quiznos close to Selinsgrove and I hadn't been to it yet and thought this would be a good time to visit one. I have often wanted to stop on our way to one of the youth group trips we take, but I have never got a really good reaction when I suggested it. Most of the kids and leaders, unlike me, would rather stick to something the know. So, I am glad I was able to check it out this weekend.

Now, I assume (and I know what happens when you assume) that they are all basically the same. I had the "Traditional" sub and a Chocolate Chip cookie. While I have nothing bad to say about my experience, I also can't say that I would try to convince anyone to stop by a Quiznos. It wasn't any better than similar places I have eaten. Toasting the sub didn't make it better for me!?! So, If you are hungry and a Quiznos is close by, go for it. If you get to choose, stay with what you like.

I would like to say that I will stop at another Quiznos and give it a second chance. I don't think opinions should be made upon only one visit.

You can't be thinking about bashing Quizno's?!?!?!?
Obviously you didn't try their horseradish sauce on your sandwich. It will open up your sinuses as well as any one else's in the same area code.
Quizno's horseradish sauce is the cure for the common cold!

I wouldn't call it "Trashing" Quiznos. And, I did say that I would give them a second chance. Thanks my friend for your comment and your endorsement for this sub shop. Check back often to see if I get a better sub next time.

I like Quizno's. I have always found the food to be of high quality, fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, I keep finding lapses in the training and information provided to their servers. Specifically, in regards to the national campaigns they have run: their "challenges". I go in to take advantage of their offer and the counter person doesn't know anything about it. Why did Quizno's spend all that money to promote their Prime Rib on garlic bread or whatever other challenge they have offered over the last few months? On the surface it's a great offer: buy the current challenge sandwich, fill out the challenge form stating that you are less than 100% satisfied, mail it in, and you will receive a coupon from Quizno's for a totally free sandwich. In practice, I have found it frustrating to find blank stares from the help when I ask for a challenge form. Or, when they know about it, they claim they're out until I cajole them into looking, and sure enough, they discover a full pad under the register. Then, when I do fill out the form and a few weeks later receive my coupon, guess what awaits me? I should have seen this coming: four people on duty, I get four blank stares. Nobody knows anything about the challenge coupon, the campaign, and sniff at my coupon (issued by Quizno's national office) with suspicion. It takes several minutes for the counter person to have a discussion with the manager and finally receive approval to accept the coupon.
This is the opposite of good customer relations. I blame it on poor management that starts at the top of the franchise heirarchy. After spending so much money on costly TV campaigns, no one is taking responsibilty to be certain than managers and hired hands are fully updated on their national campaigns. I really get the feeling they don't care. That's too bad, because Quizno's has a good product line. But, keep up this attitude of indifference and simple incompetence and they will surely fail as customers like myself decide to go elsewhere.

Wow! Thanks for the comment. I can't say I had those concerns, however I do appreciate your thoughts.

I would like to respond to the post about Campaign's that Quiznos has ran and the "Challenges". I am currently a Quiznos Franchise owner and work in my store 6 days a week about 80hours per week. I basicly live there. Since Quiznos has started the "Challenge" campains about 9 months ago we have never had to give out a single form and have only recieved ONE Voucher for a free sub. Basicly from what i have seen in my background has been very few questions about the Challeges and only ONE single voucher redeemed at my store...You can imagine a 16 year old at the counter who has never had a job before being handed a coupon that they have never seen and NOT wanting to make a mistake. I remember when i was given that one voucher for the free sub...i wanted to read it because i honestly had never seen one. It was kinda funny to because the customer ordered that same exact sub that they were not 100% satsified with, the Prime Rib CheeseSteak. I started to laugh when i read your comment about the pad under the register full of vouchers because that is excatly the same place ours is...to this day we have not given away a single form.

I am really glad that I posted this about Quizno's. Now I HAVE to go back and check it out again! Thanks for your comments. Other than Tom's horseradish idea, does anyone have any ideas as what is their best offering?

Try The Mesquite Chicken with Bacon...and if you like BBQ sauce have them add a swipe of that on top of the chicken : ) yum and then hit up the pepper bar and get some Batch 83 (four pepper chili sauce). If you not ammazed with the taste of this combination then your crazy!
